We suggest a private car tour of El Escorial, a chauffeur-driven car that will take you at the appointed time, on the appointed day. The chauffeur will wait for you while you have lunch, dinner, or visit the monastery. Then, he or she will pick you up and take you to Madrid or take you to the Valley of the Fallen.
When the weather is good, we recommend making a reservation for lunch at one of the terraces of El Escorial’s most iconic restaurants, where you can enjoy a cool gazpacho. However, during the months of June, July, or August, perhaps reserving an evening for al fresco dining might be a very good option.
The restaurant we chose is Charoles, practically next door to the monastery, just a few meters away. A long-standing restaurant that, fortunately for us, is still open after all these years.
You can also sample their wine list; we’ll drive and return you home without having to worry about driving.
And of course, afterward or beforehand, reserve time to stroll through the monastery gardens or explore the interior, visiting the royal tombs or its dormitories and chambers.
An easy day trip from Madrid, as it’s about an hour away by car, it’s one of our clients’ most frequently booked excursions. The green landscape and always slightly cooler temperatures than Madrid are truly inviting.
And if you’re into shopping, on your way back or just planning a trip, we can stop in Las Rozas Village so you can browse your favorite shops in this beautiful village. Our favorites range from Ralph Lauren clothing and polo shirts, to Bulgari jewelry and handbags, sublime Carolina Herrera dresses, and practically any Gucci bag. And finally, don’t forget to have a drink on Cristina Oria’s terrace.
Ask us for a quote for our driver and car to take you to El Escorial for the day, starting at 290 euros, depending on the time you request.
